I love visiting book clubs – large ones, small ones, serious ones, and the ones that spend almost as much time laughing and eating as they do discussing the book.
As a mystery and suspense novelist, forensic artist, and longtime law-enforcement instructor, I can take your group behind the story in a way that’s a little different from the usual author visit.
WHAT MIGHT WE TALK ABOUT?
• Where the idea for the book came from
• Which characters surprised me while I was writing
• Scenes, characters, or clues that changed before publication
• What forensic artists really do – and what television gets wrong
• Real forensic experiences that have influenced my fiction
• How I build clues, red herrings, twists, and suspense
• Faith, forgiveness, courage, and the themes behind the story
• And anything your group wants to ask me

Your club has already read the book. I’d much rather talk with you than talk at you.
HOW IT WORKS:
I can join your book club by Zoom from anywhere, or visit in person when location and schedule permit. Visits are conversational and generally run 45-60 minutes, although we can adjust that to fit your group.
Tell me which book you’re reading, approximately how many people will attend, where you’re located, and the date you’re considering.
And yes – for in-person visits, I usually bring my handmade beaded bookmarks. Because no reader should have to mark her place with a grocery receipt.
